Much as I said earlier, I decided to take a page from my belt-sister Maiwen and cook ahead for this upcoming camping event. I sat down and planned a meal schedule including biscuits for breakfast – then the 32C weather hit. There is no way I’m going to bake in that heat with 100% humidity so I’ve adapted the menu a bit.
I’m figuring now we’ll buy some muffins from Tim Hortons or bagels, I’m not sure which. The sausage I had planned for the biscuits is going to be cooked and frozen so all we need to do is reheat this weekend. Here’s the menu: Jerked Turkey Burgers, Morrocan Beef Burgers, Szechaun Beef Wraps, Pulled Pork Wraps. We also now have sausage and steak. I’ll post the verdict of the food when I get home and if they’re successes, the recipes as well.
I’m so excited about this weekend and the nice thing is I’m not going to spend over half of it cooking! I get to spend four and a half glorious days with my SCA family, I’m most thrilled about time with Valizan since I haven’t gotten to spend quality time with him in over a year. Here’s hoping for good weather.
